Guida Makes History as First Roanoke Baseball All-American

SALEM, Va. – Sean Guida became the first All-American in Roanoke College Baseball history Wednesday when D3baseball.com named him to their second-team.

It's the latest in a series of awards for Guida who was named the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) South Region Player of the Year on Tuesday. He was a First-Team All-Region choice by the ABCA as well. He was a Second-Team All-Region pick by D3baseball.com earlier this week and earlier this month was the first RC baseball player to be named ODAC Player of the Year.

Guida led the ODAC in runs (55), hits (71), triples (7), total bases (123) and slugging percentage (.699). He was second in the league with a .403 average, fifth with seven home runs and his 40 RBI were seventh best in the league. Guida hit safely in 39-of-42 games. He had a 31-game hitting streak during the middle of the season.

For his career, Guida finished with 203 hits. He had a .352 career batting average to go along with eight home runs and 113 RBI. His 21 career triples are tied for the second most in the history of the ODAC.

Guida helped the Maroons to a 31-11 record which is the second most wins in school history. RC advanced to the championship round of the ODAC Tournament, with Guida earning all-tournament team honors.
