The Lead: Five Birmingham Southern pitchers combined to no-hit Roanoke as the Panthers topped the Maroons 7-0 on Monday night.
How it Happened
- Adam Richards got the start for BSC and pitched four no-hit innings. Hanan Mauldin (1-0) entered in relief and tossed two shutout innings and earned the win. Preston Jenkins, Tristan Harvin and Paul Williamson finished out the combined no-hitter, each pitching one inning.
- BSC got all the runs it would need in the bottom of the first inning where it got four runs thanks to a pair of two RBI singles from Preston Munns and Will Evans.
- A Munns three-run home run in the third inning made the score 7-0 Panthers.
- Ben West started for the Maroons on the mound and took the loss to drop his record 0-1.
