The Lead: Birmingham Southern topped Roanoke 7-3 Tuesday night in baseball action in Birmingham, Ala.  

How it Happened 

  • Brian Williams gave BSC a 2-0 lead early with a solo home run in the first inning and an RBI single in the second inning.
  • Dawson Pfost connected for a two-run homer in the fourth inning to extend the Panthers lead to 4-0.
  • With the score 7-0 BSC in the ninth, PK Cocolis walked to open the inning and moved to second when Gus Rose reached on an error. Joe Kitlas followed with a home run to make it a 7-3 game.
  • Oliver Livingston (1-0) entered in relief and tossed two innings, giving up two hits and striking out three to pick up the win. Forrest Wagner (0-2) started for RC and took the loss after giving up a pair of runs in three innings of work.
  • Will Salva led RC with two hits.
