The Lead: Shelbi Holloman had three goals and an assist on her way to leading Roanoke to a 9-0 win over Sweet Briar and becoming the Maroons all-time leader in career goals and points.
How it Happened
- With her performance on Saturday, Holloman now has 53 career goals passing Karen Spicer (1987-90) who finished her career with 52 goals. Holloman also has 122 career points which passes Spicer's previous record of 120.
- Holloman got RC on the board just 2:33 into the game on Saturday before Stacey Staley made it 2-0 just 1:10 later.
- Staley got her second goal of the day at the 11:47 mark and Kellie Jasinski made it 4-0 exactly one minute later.
- The score stayed that way until Katerina DeSimone scored the first of three Maroon goals in just over an 11 minute span of the second-half with Fiona Dougan making it 7-0 in 49th minute.
- Alicia Meier scored to make it 8-0 before Holloman tallied the record-breaker in the 62nd minute when she wove through traffic in front of cage and chipped a shot past SBC keeper Emily Dodson.
- Roanoke outshot Sweet Briar 34-0. Dodson made 13 saves for SBC.
