The Lead: A pair of second half goals lifted the Generals to a 3-1 win over Roanoke Wednesday afternoon.
How it Happened:
- Washington and Lee got on the board first with a goal into the left side of the cage by Audrey Brady 18 minutes into the game
- Rebecca Schmidt evened the score with a goal at the 34 minute mark when Shelbi Holloman slid a pass across the front of the net that deflected off a stick and Schmidt collected and scored to tie the game 1-1
- The Generals scored the go ahead goal six minutes into the second half by Maggie Sands.
- W&L added the final goal of the game at 68:37 off a Noelani Schulmeyer pass that Allie DiPietro redirected into the back of the cage.
- Goalkeeper Heather Schauder made four saves on the night for the Maroons as Washington and Lee held a 13-10 advantage in shots and a 9-1 lead in penalty corners.
