The Lead: Lynchburg topped Roanoke 3-0 in ODAC Field Hockey Wednesday night.
How it Happened
- The Maroons outshot LC 16-12, including an 11-5 advantage in the second-half but the Maroons could not score as Hornet keeper Becka Hess made eight saves including six in the second-half.
- RC also had 11 penalty corner opportunities, including a 9-0 edge in the second-half.
- LC scored five minutes into the game to take an early lead and then doubled its advantage at the 12:39 mark. The Hornets added a goal 45 seconds into the second stanza to seal the win.
- Heather Schauder made six saves in the cage for the Maroons.
