Roanoke Field Hockey Slate Features 16 Regular Season Contests

2018 Field Hockey Schedule

Salem, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team and head coach Briana Banks will open the 2018 season, featuring 16 regular season contest, on August 31. Coming off a 14-5 overall record and a 5-2 conference record in 2017, Roanoke will start its 2018 schedule, as the team plays seven of their first 10 games at home.

The Maroons open the season with a three-game homestand in non-conference action, highlighted by a match-up against NCAA tournament team Denison. The season kicks off when RC hosts Lancaster Bible on August 31 at Donald J. Kerr Stadium. Roanoke will also faceoff against Denison on the eighth and St. Mary's (Md.) on the 15th. 

RC then travels to Pennsylvania to play Wilson College on September 17 before returning home to play Frostburg St. on Sept. 22. 

Roanoke begins conference play, as they go up against Lynchburg at the Liberty University Field Hockey Complex on Sept. 26. The Maroons are back in Salem to play Randolph-Macon, on the College's Family Weekend on Sept. 29 followed a midweek match-up with new conference member Ferrum on October 3.

The Maroons travel to Virginia Beach to face Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 6 before hosting defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee on Oct. 10 in Salem. Roanoke hits the road for five straight away matches, starting with a conference game at  Shenandoah on Oct. 13 followed by three non-conference games at Sewanee on Oct.15, Transylvania on the 16th on the campus of Sewanee and at Hendrix on the 19th.

RC will finish the regular season squaring up against two conference opponents, traveling to play Bridgewater on Oct. 25 for a Thursday night tilt before hosting Eastern Mennonite on Oct. 27.
