Three Maroons Tabbed All-State in Field Hockey

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College Field Hockey standouts Kaylin Stenson, Emilee Wooten and Emma Clark have all been named Second-Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Stenson adds an All-State honor to go along with a postseason that has seen her earn National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region honors as well as a First-Team All-ODAC accolade. Stenson anchored a Maroons defense that allowed an ODAC best 1.16 goals per game this season. RC allowed just 19 goals on the season which was the lowest in the league by seven goals and posted five shutouts on the season. Stenson was also named to the ODAC All-Tournament Team after helping RC shutout Randolph-Macon in the quarterfinals.

Wooten joined Stenson on the NFHCA All-Region team as well as the ODAC First-Team. Wooten scored 13 goals which ranked fifth in the ODAC and her six assists ranked sixth most in the league. Her 32 total points were good for fourth in the ODAC as well. Four of her 13 goals proved to be of the game-winning variety. Wooten was also named to the ODAC All-Tournament team after assisting on Lauren Heffron's goal in the quarterfinal win over R-MC and scoring in the semifinals against Lynchburg.

Clark earned First-Team All-ODAC honors for the second straight season back in early November. Clark had a league-best 1.09 goals against average for the season. She also led the ODAC in shutouts with five. Her .807 save percentage was second-best in the league, while her 67 saves ranked ninth. Clark also allowed a league-low 16 goals during the season.

Roanoke finished the season with 12 wins and made an appearance in the ODAC Semifinals for the second straight season.
