Freund Named ODAC Player of the Week

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Josh Freund has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Freund, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., picks up his second weekly award of the season after a pair of stellar outings to help lead Roanoke to two ODAC victories. Freund picked up the first of his two doubles on the week in a 76-68 triumph over national 19th-ranked Emory & Henry. He was 8-of-16 from the field and 9-of-9 from the stripe on the way to 25 points with 16 rebounds. Six of his boards came via the offensive glass. Freund stepped up his shooting in an 85-76 win over Shenandoah, going 11-of-16 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line towards 31 points. He again pulled down 16 rebounds with another six on the offensive glass. He added three assists and two steals to his line. For the season, Freund averages a double-double and is second in the ODAC in both scoring (18.3) and rebounding (10.1). He leads the league in field goals made (152-of-247) and field goal shooting (.615) and is third with nine double-doubles.
