Hanging Rock Golf Club
The Roanoke College golf team has been able to practice at Hanging Rock a few times a week in recent years. Overlooking the beautiful Roanoke Valley of Virginia, Hanging Rock Golf Club is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The course, designed by Russell Breeden, offers a championship layout that guarantees golfers of all skill levels a challenging and exciting round.

Hanging Rock has earned numerous accolades, including:
- Voted "Best Golf Facility in the Roanoke Valley" by readers of The Roanoker Magazine 17 out of the past 21 years including the past five years (2009-2013)
- Named one of the "Top 3 Courses in Virginia" by The Golfer’s Guide readers’ survey.
- Awarded a 3 1/2-star rating by Golf Digest’s "Best Places to Play.”
- Named one of the top 100 Must Play Courses in the Mid-Atlantic by Washington Golf Monthly magazine

Roanoke Country Club
The golf team is also able to practice at Roanoke Country Club throughout the week as well, and have complete access to their indoor hitting area during unplayable weather. The country club offers a complete practice area including a main driving range, a second short iron range, a short game practice green and a practice putting green. RCC also has 27 holes of golf that give the Maroons even more holes to play and practice on.

Ballyhack Golf Club
Ballyhack is one of the most exclusive clubs in Virginia and is also considered to be one of the most beautiful as well. With an overlook of the Blue Ridge Mountains while playing, golfers have the privilege to experience this wonderful view while playing on this Scottish highland-type course. The Maroons partnered up with Ballyhack for the 2015 season and were able to use this as their course for the Roanoke Invitational, and had the opportunity to practice there in the weeks leading up to the tournament.
Ballyhack has earned numerous accolades, including:

  • #29 by Golf Digest and #1 in Virginia among both private and public facilities
  • #13 in Golfweek’s “Best Modern Day Golf Courses”
  • Golf Digest’s “Best New Private Course” after its inception in 2003
  • One of 19 courses in the United States that has a maximum slope rating of 155 according to the USGA
