The Lead: No. 16 Franklin & Marshall used a big first quarter to take a five-goal lead over the Roanoke men's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon as the two teams played even the rest of the contest with the Diplomats taking the game 14-9 in Lancaster.

How it Happened/Highlights:

  • After the Diplomats scored at 12:43, Luke Kammerman scored unassisted at 9:54 to level the match at a goal a piece. Six goals for F&M over the next five and half minutes saw the Diplomats retake the lead at 7-1. Quinn Evans scored off a L. Kammerman pass with 58 seconds left in the period to cut the lead down to five.
  • The second period saw the Diplomats score twice before the Maroons answered back with a pair of goals by Luca Docking.
  • Coming out of halftime, F&M led 9-4 with both teams scoring three times in the third quarter. Roanoke got goals from L. Kammerman ((;53), Noah Goad (9:21), and Clayton Bewick (00:57) to keep the F&M lead at five goals.
  • Bewick scored his second goal off a pass from Julian Kammerman at 7:26 and Wyatt Whitlow with 21 seconds left as the Diplomats maintained their five-goal lead after the first quarter to win, 14-9.
