The Lead: A late first-half goal lifted Roanoke to a 1-0 lead over Guilford Wednesday afternoon in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • With 41:36 on the clock, Ben Boone headed a ball off a corner from Chris Jerrild for what proved to be the game winner.
  • Guilford hit the crossbar just 15 minutes into the contest off a shot from Louis Gozan.
  • Roanoke fired off four shots in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net and extend its lead.
  • The Quakers registered eight of their 11 shots in the second half but Zach Behe made the only four saves on the day to keep them scoreless.
  • Guilford held a 3-2 edge in corners on the day with Zach Van Kampen making four saves for GC.
