The Lead: A late first-half goal lifted W&L to a 1-0 conference win over Roanoke Saturday evening in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • Dylan Ritch scored the game-winner off a shot that hit the left side post and slide past the Roanoke keeper at 36:02.
  • Ten minutes earlier, Alec Taitague fired off a shot at 26:32, but goalie Michael Nyc made a save.
  • In the final seconds of the first half, Atticus Cooke headed a ball that just missed high, keeping it a 1-0 game.
  • Alex Sullivan made two saves in the first half while Zach Behe made two in the second half.
  • The Generals held a 14-4 edge in shots and took 11 of the 12 corners on the night. 

Up Next: Men's Soccer hosts Bridgewater on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. The game has been designated at their Cancer Awareness game as they are teaming up with Cadin's Cure.
