The Lead: R/V Roanoke College topped home standing Randolph-Macon 1-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Soccer action on Saturday.

How it Happened:

  • The first 45 minutes proved to be scoreless with Randolph-Macon holding a 7-4 edge in shots, with neither goalkeeper forced to make a save.
  • Roanoke got the lone goal of the match when in the 55th minute Anthony Zarlenga collected a loose ball in the box and connected for his second goal of the season that would give RC a 1-0 advantage.
  • The Maroon defense would make the goal hold up allowing just three Yellow Jacket shots in the final 35 minutes, none of which made it on net.
  • Zach Behe did not have to make a save to earn the shutout. Anthony Ivanov made two stops for R-MC.
  • RC held a 14-11 edge in shots for the match and a slim 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
  • The Maroons, who are receiving votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, improve to a 7-0-0 on the road this season.
