The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half to come from behind and down the Greensboro College Pride on Wednesday evening on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Despite being outshot in the first half, 9-7, the Pride were the first to find the back of the net in the first half off a header at 17:55.
  • Harrison Kraus would take a pass from Dylan Berk just 4:22 into the second half inside the box and scored the equalizing goal to tie the score up at 1-1.
  • The Maroons then scored the game-winning goal a man down when Girom Affolter scored unassisted at 67:18 to put Roanoke up 2-1. The defense then held on for road victory for the Maroons.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • The Maroons controlled the ball on the offensive side of the field in the first half by taking six corner kicks to just one for Greensboro.
  • Both teams fired four shots in the second half with Roanoke having the 13-11 lead in total shots.
