Sheldon Blue

Sheldon Blue joined the Roanoke Men's Soccer program in June of 2019.

Blue, who assists head coach Ryan flugrad in all facets of Maroons program, arrives in Salem after a two-year stint at his alma mater Wesley College (Del.) where he served as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's teams.

In 2018, the Wolverines men's team was named the most improved team in NCAA Division III men's soccer for the 2018 season.  Wesley recorded an 11.5-game turnaround from the 2017 season to the 2018 season, which tied the 1999 University of Puget Sound Loggers for the largest single-season improvement in NCAA Division III history.

"We are excited to welcome Sheldon to the Roanoke Soccer Family," Pflugrad.  "Sheldon's previous successful coaching experiences, high work ethic and strong character will all serve our program and student athletes here at Roanoke College well." 

Prior to Wesley, Blue was the head coach of Cumberland County College in Vineland, N.J. during the 2016 season. Blue headed all coaching, fundraising, eligibility, discipline and practice management for the Dukes.

Prior to his tenure at Cumberland, Blue was an assistant boys' varsity coach at Buena Regional High School in Buena, N.J. during the 2015 season. 

A team captain his senior year, Blue was named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Second Team in 2013. Blue was also a Dean's List student at Wesley and earned All-CAC Academic Honor Roll accolades three times during his undergraduate years. 

Blue earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Wesley in May 2015. He recently earned his Master of Science degree in Sport Leadership from Wesley as well.
