The Lead: Roanoke opened the 2019 outdoor season at the W&L Track & Field Carnival in Lexington, Va.

Highlights: 

  • Lily Lippert finished second in the 400m hurdles, clocking a 1:06.47 followed by Hannah Koepfinger in third with a 1:08.36. Koepfinger finished the 100m hurdles in 16.73 for fifth place. 
  • Alison Moreau finished seventh in the 100m with a time of 13.47 followed by Quiana Mosley in ninth with a time of 13.57.
  • With a mark of 3.37m, Lindsey Baxter took second in the pole vault. 
  • In the long jump, Brooke Ryman registered a 4.62m for 10th place before taking third in the triple jump with a mark of 10.36m. 
  • Jennifer Calascione tossed a 11.57m in the shot put, earning third place. 
  • Nicole Moughrabi took fourth in the hammer with a mark of 39.79m. 
  • Joey Reid clocked an 11.26 in the 100m to take ninth place. 
  • With a time of 50.79, Micah Ray earned third place in the 400m. 
  • Chamberlain Zulauf finished the 5000m in 15:42.57 for eighth place. 
  • Cliff Schwabauer crossed the finish line in the 400m hurdles in 1:00.35 to take ninth place. 
  • The 4x100m relay team of Troy Crawley, Grant Williams, Brandon Justice, and Reid took second place with a time of 43.62. 
  • With a mark of 3.82m, Jackson Smith finished fourth in the pole vault followed by Corbin Turner in sixth with a 3.67m.
  • Kyle Bland tossed a 38.41m in the discus for eighth place while Kaleb Bland tossed a 40.89m in the hammer for fifth.
