The Lead: The Roanoke Men's and Women's Cross Country teams hosted the 2019 Roanoke Invitational and the ODAC Preview on Saturday.
Men Highlights
- Chamberlain Zulauf was Roanoke's top finisher with a time of 26:17.5 which landed him in 17th place overall.
- Nathaniel Willis finished 23rd (26:43.9) and Tyler Barrett was 33rd (27:12.2).
- Andrew Deel finished the 8k course in a time of 27:25.6 to place to finish 38th.
- The Maroons finished fourth in the 18 team field. Washington and Lee won the team side by placing four runners in the top 12.
- Former Roanoke College All-American Harrison Toney '16 won the men's race with a time of 24:59.
Women's Highlights
- Emma Maras was the first Maroon to cross the finish line, posting a time of 24:21.8 which was good for 17th place overall.
- Hannah Koepfinger was 32nd overall with a time of 25:27.5, while Ashley Brown was 46th, crossing the finish line in 26:04.1.
- RC finished fifth as a team and W&L captured the women's title as well, earning three top five finishes.
- Former Roanoke standouts Kerri Dalton '17 (21:49.6) and Caity Ashley '17 (22:19.3) finished first and third, respectively in the 148 person field.
Up Next: Roanoke will be in action on Oct. 5 at the Louisville Cross Country Classic.
