Game 1
Score: Ohio Northern 6, Roanoke 5
Records: Roanoke 7-6 | Panthers 6-3
Location: Leesburg, Fla.
The Lead: In a game that went back and forth, Roanoke took a lead into the bottom of the ninth only to see ONU tie and then take the game one inning later.
How it Happened:
- The Polar Bears used a double, followed by a Maroon error, and a single to take a 1-0 lead after four innings.
- RC would respond in the top of the Fifth when Rebecca Hensley led off with a walk and advanced on a passed ball. After a ground out, Meri Bostic was hit by a pitch before Jordyn DiFava singled to tie the game. Shanan Hester would add an RBI single to give RC the lead.
- However, a pair of Roanoke miscues allowed Ohio Northern to score three, unearned, runs to retake the advantage.
- RC would strike back when Scarlett Sisson reached on an error and Hensley drew another free pass to set the table. Brooke Trapuzzano attempted a SAC bunt but was able to load the bases on a fielder's choice. Hester would clear the bases with a 3 run double to give RC a 5-4 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.
- Roanoke was unable to close out the game when Alicia Swierz laced a double and advanced on a put-out. A SAC fly would tie the game and force extra innings.
- RC didn't score in the top, but in the bottom of the eighth, the Polar Bears were able to load the bases and plate the winning run on a two out error.
- Hester was 3-5 with 4RBI with Hensley scoring two runs and Bostic going 1-2 with a run.
- Jada Karnes went four innings, giving up one earned run on five hits with a strikeout. Hester pitched the final 3 2/3 giving up just one, earned run on four hits with a strikeout.

Game 2
Score: Roanoke 8, Thiel 1
Records: Roanoke 8-6 | Tomcats 2-7
Location: Leesburg, Fla.
The Lead: The Maroons gave up a run in the first inning, but a six spot in the bottom of the third allowed RC to cruise to the 8-1 Spring Break, ending, victory over Thiel.
How it Happened:
- Trailing 1-0, Karle Cundiff reached on a throwing error to start the bottom of the third frame. Sisson would make in first and second with a single to center before Hensley plated the first run of the afternoon with a fielder's choice. Trapuzzano then scored Sisson on another fielder's choice to give the Maroons their first lead.
- Hensley would score on a Bostic ground out before Serenity Bishop plated Hensley setting the stage for a 2-run home run off the bat of Hester to put the game out of reach.
- Hester would hit her second, 2-run dinger of the game to close out the scoring.
- Olivia Simmons would earn the win with a complete game, two hit, one run effort. Simmons was able to strikeout eight Tomcats on the afternoon.
Up Next: Roanoke softball wrapped up their 10 game, Florida, Spring Break trip with a 6-4 record and will open conference play on Wednesday when they host Emory & Henry for a double-header.
