The Lead: Women's Lacrosse rolled to a 22-4 win over Bridgewater on Saturday of Alumni Weekend.
How it Happened:
- Bridgewater scored first before Roanoke scored nine unanswered goals to push ahead 9-1 with 15 minutes left in the first half.
- Jenn Schwechheimer scored back-to-back goals in the 9-0 run and assisted three other goals, while Katie Clements sparked the streak with a goal at 26:52.
- Five different Maroons scored in the final 6:47 of the first half with the last coming from Maggie Lewis in the final 35 seconds to give Roanoke a 15-3 led at the intermission.
- Lilly Blair opened the second half with a goal just 56 seconds and was what proved to be the start of a 7-0 run.
- Hannah Taylor scored twice in the second half with her strike at the 19:45 mark making it a 19-3 game.
- The Maroons held Bridgewater scoreless for a combined 33:09 from the end of the first half through the final 1:31 of the second half.
- Schwechheimer had a game-high nine points with four goals and five assists while Blair had a game-high five goals and Ellie Armstrong added four goals. Carly Schoudel made seven saves in the first 50:55.
- Jacqueline DiFulvio had a team-best two goals for the Eagles and Mikaela Brooks made 11 saves on the day.
