Salem, Va. – Six Roanoke College Women's Lacrosse standouts have been named to the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Conference Team as the league announced yearly awards on Wednesday.
Katie Clements, Emerson Foster and Jenn Schwechheimer were all named First-Team All-ODAC. Ellie Armstrong was named second-team, while Lilly Blair and Sarah Kroneberger were third-team choices.
Clements, who was named Third-Team All-ODAC a season ago, finished her senior season ninth in the league in points with 59. Her 53 goals were fifth most in the league and she had six assists as well. She was tops in the ODAC with 45 groundballs and second with 92 draw controls. Defensively, her 18 caused turnovers was 18th best in the league.
Foster finished her first season in Salem by starting all 19 games on defense for the Maroons. She had 35 groundballs which was ninth most in the ODAC this season. She also 82 draw controls which was fifth most in the league. She also caused 17 turnovers as well.
Schwechheimer led the ODAC with 112 points this season. Her 54 assists were tops in the ODAC, while her 58 goals were third most in the league. She is the first Maroon since 2014 to eclipse the 100 points plateau and becomes the first Roanoke player to lead the league in points since Claire Feeney in 2016. Schwechheimer also had 24 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers. Schwechheimer broke the ODAC and school record for points with 17 and the RC record with nine goals in a win over Ferrum in February.
Armstrong earns her second straight second-team honor after a season in which she was fourth in the league in goals with 54. She also added 13 assists for 68 points which ranked fifth most in the league. Her 14 free-position shot goals was fourth best in the ODAC, while she also snared 13 groundballs and forced nine turnovers.
Blair finished her first season as a Maroon with 57 points which was the 11th most in the league this season and second most among freshmen. Her 48 goals rank seventh most in the league and tops among freshmen in the ODAC. She also dished out nine assists on the season.
Kroneberger capped her career off with her first All-ODAC honor. She had 23 draw controls to go along with 13 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers. She was part of a Roanoke defense that's 9.26 goals against average was the second lowest in the league during the season and its 176 goals allowed was third fewest in the ODAC.
Roanoke finished the season 12-7 on the year.
