Women's Lacrosse, Clements Honored by IWLCA

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Women's Lacrosse team and recent graduate Katie Clements have been honored by The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association by being named to its 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll.

A health and human performance major, Clements finished her senior season ninth in the league in points with 59. Her 53 goals were fifth-most in the league and she had six assists as well. She was tops in the ODAC with 45 groundballs and second with 92 draw controls. Defensively, her 18 caused turnovers was 18th best in the league. For her efforts she was named First-Team All-ODAC and an IWLCA All-Region selection.

To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

The Maroons as a team earned a spot on the honor roll as well. A total of 303 schools across Division I, II, III and NAIA garnered IWLCA Honor Squad recognition. To qualify, a team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

Roanoke finished 12-7 on the year and 6-3 in the ODAC.
