How it Happened:
- Virginia Wesleyan scored the only goal it would need just under 19 minutes into the contest for a 1-0 lead.
- Roanoke fired seven shots on goal in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.
- Emily Whitaker's shot was blocked at the 88:54 mark, in the Maroons last attempt to tie the game.
- The Marlins held a 17-11 advantage in shots while both teams recorded five penalty kicks each.
- Goalkeeper Chris Martin made six saves on the day for the Maroons while Va. Wesleyan keeper Chapman made four.
