The Lead: Lucy Perry and Caelan DeMuth each scored a pair of goals as Roanoke topped Sweet Briar 7-0 Tuesday afternoon in ODAC Women's Soccer action.
How it Happened:
- Perry and the Maroons got on the board just 3:49 into the match when Taylor Sayegh crossed a pass to Perry who one-touched the ball past SBC keeper Caroline Thomas to make it 1-0.
- DeMuth doubled the lead in the 37th minute when she took a long pass and was able to score and make it a 2-0 edge for the Maroons.
- The score stayed that way until the 67th minute when Perry took a pass from Kylie Bruce and scored what would prove to be the first of five goals in a 12 minute span for the Maroons.
- DeMuth got her second strike of the game in the 72nd minute before Meagan Ryan scored from 20 yards out to make it a 5-0 game at the 77:13 mark.
- Madeleine Dickinson and Adelyn Fitzgerald rounded out the scoring with goal at the 78th and 80th minute marks, respectively.
- Roanoke outshot SBC 54-0 and held an 11-0 edge in corner kicks. Thomas made 25 saves in net for the Vixens, while Caroline Liebel played just under 74 minutes in net for RC, before giving way to Delaney Weston.
