The Lead: Nine different Maroons scored in the 12-0 Senior Day win over Sweet Briar Saturday afternoon in Salem. 

How it Happened:

  • Lucy Perry opened up the scoring four minutes into the contest with a shot into the left side of the net.
  • Beginning at the 12-minute mark Ashley Scoyni, Emma Woods and Perry each tallied a goal over the next five minutes to make it a 4-0 game.
  • Hailey Davis scored a goal at 27:43 and 39:57 to take a 7-0 edge into the intermission, as Madeline Dickinson scored the sixth goal in the 33rd minute.
  • Two minutes into the second half, Kathryn Van Orden fired a shot into the left side of the net to make it 8-0.
  • Strikes from Jillian Barnard and Natalie Hidalgo  just three minutes apart made it 10-0. Julia McCracken then scored off a penalty kick at 59:39.
  • Emma Stremmel rounded out the scoring with a goal in the final 27 minutes of action.
  • The Roanoke defense didn't allow a shot on the day as Chris Martin and Kaitlyn Finch spilt time in goal for the Maroons.
  • For Sweet Briar, Caroline Thomas made 10 saves in the first half while Sammy Holton made three in the second half.
