Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Jillian Barnard has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Barnard, a senior from Fairfax, Va., put together an eight-point week to help the Maroons lock up the fifth seed in the upcoming ODAC tournament. Barnard opened with six points in a 5-0 win over Emory & Henry as she had a hand in all five goals with one tally and four assists. Then, with scoring much more at a premium, she notched the game's lone goal with an unassisted effort in the 77th minute for a 1-0 win at Shenandoah in the regular season finale. For the year, Barnard has registered 16 points on five goals and six assists. The latter number is tied for fifth in the ODAC.
RC will travel to Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday for the ODAC Quarterfinals.
