The Lead: No. 16 Johns Hopkins scored just 45 seconds into the match and held off Roanoke the rest of the way to earn a 1-0 win on Sunday.

How it Happened:

  • JHU got the only goal it would need just 45 seconds in when Emily Maheras slipped a lead pass to Rachel Jackson who then beat RC keeper Chris Martin to make it 1-0.
  • Martin would keep Hopkins off the board for the remainder of the match, making five saves in the first-half and six in the second-half to keep RC within striking distance.
  • JHU held a 23-4 edge in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. 
  • Robyn Lipschulz earned the shutout for JHU has she turned away all four Maroon shots, including three in the second-half.
