The Lead: Hailey Davis' first-half goal proved to be all that Roanoke would need as the Maroons topped Maryville on Sunday.
How it Happened:
- In the 33rd minute during the first half, Davis took a Abigal Burke pass and dribbled to just inside the right box. Davis was a able to place a perfect shot into the corner of the net and beat Abbey Coleman.
- Roanoke threatened to double its lead in the 61st minute but Ellie Schad's shot was turned away by a diving Coleman.
- The Davis goal proved to be the only one RC would need as the Maroon defense allowed just seven Scot shots and Chris Martin turned away all three shots that made it to goal.
- Roanoke held an 8-7 edge in kicks and a 6-3 lead in corner kicks.
