Roaoke Scores 3-0 Win Over Meredith

The Lead: The Roanoke College Women's Soccer team scored a 3-0 win over Meredith on Wednesday evening in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • RC got the only goal it would need in the 18th minute when Tessa Walsh slipped a pass to Hailey Davis in front of the net who then beat the Meredith keeper to give Roanoke a 1-0 lead.
  • Roanoke doubled its lead in the 33rd minute when Emma Woods used a long range shot to score and put the Maroons up 2-0.
  • The match stayed that way through halftime time and into the 86h minute when Kathryn Van Orden was able to get a shot off from the just outside of the box and score to make it 3-0.
  • RC outshot Meredith 35-6 and held a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.
  • Chris Martin played the first 53 minutes in goal and made one save before giving way to Carrington Lippi who made there saves.
  • Miranda Lutz made 15 saves in a losing effort to Meredith.
