The Lead: The Roanoke Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision on the road Saturday afternoon at McDaniel.
How it Happened
- McDaniel scored just 3:04 into the match when Megan Henderson tallied an unassisted strike to go up 1-0.
- The score stayed that way through halftime and into the 55th minute when McDaniel doubled its lead when Henderson set up Jessie Titus to make it 2-0.
- RC cut its deficit in half in the 62nd minute following an unassisted goal off the foot of Kathryn Van Orden, pushing the Maroons closer at 2-1.
- McDaniel put the game away in the 79th minute on a Carly Wetzel goal.
- Roanoke led in shots 12-8 and each team had six corner kicks.
