The Lead: Ellie Schad scored twice as Roanoke topped Emory & Henry 5-1 in ODAC Women's Soccer action on Tuesday.
How it Happened:
- The Maroons scored three goals in just over the first 33 minutes of the match to take a commanding lead.
- Tessa Walsh tallied an unassisted strike at the 4:41 mark before Hailey Davis set up Schad for goal just under 19 minutes into the match.
- RC got its third goal of the half when Jamie Obremski struck for her first goal of the season in the 34the minute.
- The Wasps cut into their deficit just under seven minutes later when Kelci Horner scored to make it 3-1.
- Roanoke padded its lead in the 65th minute when Schad scored again, this time assisted by Walsh, giving RC a 4-1 edge.
- Davis would get her second assist of the match just three minutes later when connected with Claire Thoma for a goal at the 67:19 mark.
- Roanoke held a 42-3 edge in shots and led 12-1 in corner kicks.
- Chris Martin made one save in the first-half for RC, while Kaela Schlevensky made 11 stops for the Wasps.
