The Lead: Roanoke College played host to Emory & Henry on Thursday afternoon. The Maroons used a 42-2 shot advantage to control the action throughout on their way to a 4-0 ODAC win.
Highlights:
- The Maroons controlled the action in the Wasps zone from the opening kick, recording their first shot 1:10 into the matchup.
- 20 minutes into the first half, Roanoke was awarded a corner kick. The ball was sent into the zone and Lucy Perry made a one-touch pass to an open MC Petrucelli for the first score of the match.
- With 12 seconds to play in the half, Perry sent a pass down the field to Eliza Ryan to make it 2-0 heading to the break.
- Roanoke would attempt 17 shots, nine on goal in the first 45 minutes.
- At the 85 minute mark Roanoke would add two scores in a one minute span. First Abigail Burke scored from in front of the Wasps net. Less than 40 seconds later, Lauren Mazurek made it 4-0.
- Carrington Lippi got the win, stopping both shots that were on net.
