Fourteen Maroons Earn All-ODAC

Salem, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Swimming team placed eight student-athletes on the 2019 ODAC All-Conference Team, while the RC Women's Swimming team placed six student-athletes on the team.

Parker Devillier, Connor Kinkema and Nick McGrath were all named First-Team All-ODAC. Brian Grimmett, Ben Tate and Jack Vaughn were named second-team, while Colin Burnette and Ian Densley were third-team choices.

The ODAC Rookie of the Year, Kinkema won the 400 IM (4:05.64), 100 breaststroke (56.74) with an ODAC and championship record and the 200 breaststroke (2:02.14) also with a conference and championship record and NCAA B-cut time.  

Devillier won the 50 freestyle (21.17) at the ODAC Championship, while McGrath was second with a time of 57.22.

Grimmett, Kinkema, Tate and Burnettte would team up to place third in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:31.33 at the ODAC Championships.

Tate would finish third in both the 100 yard butterfly (51.59) and the 200 yard free (1:43.73) at the ODAC Championships. Tate would also team up with Grimmett, Cole Hensen and Vaughn to finish third in the 800 yard free relay, posting a time of 7:07.66.

Densley finished sixth at the ODAC Championships in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.30 and seventh in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.83.

Roanoke finished in second-place as a team at the ODAC Championships.

Reilly Bird and Izzy Mack were named First-Team All-ODAC, Maria Vinson was a second-team choice, while Grace Fountain, Elizabeth Roberts and Sarah Virginia Scott were all named to the third-team.

Bird eclipsed the NCAA B-cut (57.00) in the 100-backstroke with a time of 56.18 to take the title. That is 0.20 off the ODAC champs record and a little more than a half-second off the overall record. Bird also had a third-place finish in the 50 yard free with a time of 24.04.

Mack was second at the ODAC Championship in the 1650 Free and was sixth in the 400 and 500 free.

The 800 yard free relay team of Mack, Hannah Petty, Fountain and Vinson took second-place at the ODAC Championship with a time of 1:59.52.

Vinson also placed third in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:36.39, while Scott finished sixth in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke at the championships.

Roberts was sixth in the 50 free and 100 butterfly at the ODAC championships.
