How it Happened

  • Against Albany State, RC jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead taking each doubles match. Avery Smith and Jessica Kennedy won at No. 1 doubles, while Catherine Lee and Madeline Herring won at No.2 and Nicole Rajner and Arabella Goralski won at No. 3.
  • ASU cut the RC lead to 3-2 by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
  • Roanoke closed out the match when Rajner topped Alani Gauthier 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles followed by a Goralski win at No. 4 singles over Darien Davis.
  • RC's sweep of Catholic started with three wins in doubles play, highlighted by a Kennedy and Smith win at No. 1 over Jenna Gietl and Erin Cole.
  • Herring and Lee won at No. 2 and Carolyn Kitsock would team with Janny Alvarado for a victory at No. 3.
  • Smith won at No. 3 singles over Lisa Genadry 6-1, 6-1 to put RC up 4-0.
  • Roanoke sealed the win when Kennedy knocked off Gietl 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 to clinch the win.
