Daniel Ragsdale

Daniel Ragsdale is entering his seventh year as the head coach of the Roanoke Women's Tennis program and first as Roanoke's Head Men's Tennis Coach.

Under Ragsdale guidance, the Maroons have become among the top teams in the ODAC and the South Region.

Over the course of the last four years, Ragsdale has led RC to 62 total wins, including 32 against ODAC opponents.

In 2014, the Maroons started off the season with a mark of 8-0, the best record to start a season in program history.  It was also the best start by any Roanoke College head coach in their first year at the helm. The team made it to the ODAC championship for the third year in a row. In 2013, Ragsdale led the Maroons to the ODAC championship for the second year in the row.

Ragsdale came to Roanoke College as Head Tennis Pro at Roanoke Country Club, a position he's held since 2011-2015. Ragsdale is certified under the United States Professional Tennis Association, USPTR and the ITPA as a tennis performance trainer.

Prior to arriving in Roanoke, Ragsdale was a Tennis Professional at River Hills Club of Jackson, Mississippi from 2001-2008.  During that time he was a member of the Belhaven University Tennis team from 2002-05, where he was the #1 doubles and #2 singles player.  Before Belhaven, Ragsdale played at Wallace State Community College, where he was a two-year starter and NJCAA Regional Doubles Champion.

Daniel and his wife Stephanie were married in 2006 and moved to Roanoke in 2008 from Jackson, MS.
