Track & Field Set to Take on ODAC Championships

SALEM, Va. - Roanoke Track & Field is set to take on the Old Dominion Athletic Conference 2019 Indoor Championships Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Cregger Center in Salem.

The one-day championships will take place on the campus of Roanoke College. Field events are schedule to begin at 12 p.m. while running events will begin at 2 p.m. For the full list of events click here.

The Maroons have set four school records this year with two coming in the men's triple jump by freshman Jayvon Jones. Zach Dalton broke the 600m last weekend at the Virginia Tech Challenge and the team of Savannah Gheen, Grace Rios, Lily Lippert and Hannah Koepfinger broke the women's 1600m sprint medley relay earlier this season. 

Mara Briggs and Quinn Harlan were named the ODAC Athletes of the Week last weekend as the dio each hold the top spot in the conference standings. Briggs has a season-best 1.65m in the high jump while Harlan has a top mark of 7.69 in the 60m heading into the championships. 

The Women have been ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National rating index throughout the season. Regionally, the women are ranked sixth in the south/southeast through the week of Feb. 18 (week 5).
