Roanoke Women Place Third, Men Sixth at ODAC Championships

The Lead: The Roanoke College Women's Indoor Track & Field Team placed third at the 2019 ODAC Championships, while the men were sixth.

Highlights:

  • Jayna Jean-Jules won the ODAC Champion in the weight throw with a toss of 15.08m / 49'5.75."
  • Jennifer Calascione (13.83m / 45'4.50") and Nicole Moughrabi (13.28m / 43'7") finished third and fourth in the weight throw, respectively as well.
  • Quinn Harlan repeated as the ODAC Champion in the 60m, posting a time of 7.71 seconds. Harlan also finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.52.
  • Corbin Turner set the Roanoke school record in the pole vault and finished second overall with a height of 4.30 m / 14''1.25.
  • Kyle Bland and Kaleb Bland finished fifth (14.02 m) and in seventh place (13.41 m), respectively in the weight throw.
  • Brooke Ryman finished fourth in the long jump with a 4.79m mark.
  • Mara Briggs placed third in the high jump with a 1.57m / 5'1.75" and Alison Moreau was fifth with a jump of 1.52m / 4'11.75."
  • Chamberlain Zulauf (15:43.86) and Tyler Barrett (16:08.54) finished third and seventh in the 5,000 meters.
  • Lily Lippert was second in the 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in a time of 9.29. She was also fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.41.
  • In the men's 60m hurdle, Xavier O'Brien tied the school record with a time of 8.51. For his efforts, he finished fourth overall.
  • In the pole vault, Claire Trotto (3.22m / 10'6.75"), Lindsey Baxter (3.07m / 10'0.75") and Louise Tester (2.92 / 9'7") place second, third and seventh.
  • With a time of 23.14, Joey Reid finished sixth in the men's 200 meters.
  • Lynchburg took the women's title with 176 total points while Washington and Lee won the men's title with 146.5 total points. 

Up Next: Roanoke will host the Maroons Final Qualifier on March 2.
