The Lead: Southern Virginia scored a 3-1 win over Roanoke in volleyball action on Tuesday night.
How it Happened:
- Southern Virginia took advantage of Roanoke hitting just .093 in the first game, including eight errors to take game one 25-20.
- Roanoke fired back in game two to hit .306 and win 25-18. Roanoke jumped out to a 9-1 lead only to see SVU tie the game at 14-14.
- With the score 18-16, RC reeled off seven of the final nine points, closing out the game on a Linsey Bailey kill.
- SVU led 14-10 in game three and would go on a 7-1 run, extending their lead, 21-11, on a Mykynli Knight ace as the Knights went on to a 25-16 win.
- Roanoke found itself down 23-20 in the third game before scoring four straight points to take a one point advantage. The teams would battle back and forth until the Knights scored consecutive points to seal the win.
- Bailey finished 18 kills and Telia Harris had 14 for the Maroons. Logan Pasley finished with 18 assists.
