Bailey Named ODAC Volleyball Player of the Week

SALEM, Va. – Roanoke College's Linsey Bailey has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.

Bailey, a sophomore from Fincastle, Va., was explosive on offense and sound on defense in the Maroons 2-1 week against ODAC competition. Bailey hammered 61 kills at a 6.10 per-set clip, adding in 45 digs at 4.50 per set. She collected 64.5 total points and 6.5 per set. She opened her week with 18 kills to go with eight digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win over Emory & Henry. Bailey turned up her production with 26 kills and 20 digs in a 3-1 loss to Lynchburg.

The 26 kills mark the most in a match of any length in the ODAC this season. It is her third 20-plus kill match of the year and her first 20/20 outing thru 16 matches. Bailey capped her week with 17 kills, 17 digs, and two aces in a 3-0 triumph over Eastern Mennonite. For the season, Bailey now leads the ODAC in kills per set (4.27), points (289.0), and points per set (4.8). She is second in total kills (256).

Roanoke is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Guilford for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match.
