RC Ranked 30th  in Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season Poll

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke Baseball team is ranked No. 30 in Collegiate Baseball's 2019 Pre-Season Top-40 Poll.

The Maroons garnered 204 points to take the 30th slot. Roanoke finished the 2018 season with a 31-11 record which is the second most wins in school history. RC advanced to the championship round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament as well.

Back in the mix for the Maroons is ABCA All-Region third-baseman Jack Howard. Howard hit .348 last season which ranked 16th highest in the ODAC. He had 55 hits on the season and ranked in the top-10 in the ODAC in doubles (14), walks (30) and on-base percentage (.455). Howard also had one home run and drove in 36 runs on the year.

Also back for Roanoke is reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year Will Salva. Salva finished his first season in Salem hitting .329 with five home runs and 37 RBI.

Roanoke opens its season on Feb. 9 when it travels to Methodist for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
