"We are super excited to have Sean on board," said McGuire.  "He brings a winning pedigree and a tremendous work ethic to help us continue moving the program forward. He's got a bright future in this profession."

Prior to coming to Roanoke, Getman spent one season as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana.  In his only season at Franklin, they won the conference championship and made first NCAA appearance since 2011.

"I would like to thank Coach McGuire for giving me this opportunity," said Getman.  "I am thrilled to work alongside Coach McGuire in preparation to get Roanoke baseball back to the College World Series. I can't wait to get started."

As a player, Getman played at Cortland State in Cortland, New York from 2015-2017.  The Oneonta, New York native played infield for the Red Dragons, seeing time as a first and third baseman.  He was team captain his senior year.

Getman was on the team when the Red Dragons won the 2015 national championship.  He was a part of two conference titles, two regional championships, and two World Series appearances.
