This year, 321 student-athletes have been recognized as Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction.

The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.

Claire Eisenhart (sophomore, midfielder/defender from Mullica Hill, N.J.) and Claudia Roncone (sophomore, midfielder from Newark, Del.) were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for their work in the classroom. Both Eisenhart and Roncone started all 20 games for the Maroons this past fall. Eisenhart finished her second season with two goals and three assists while Roncone added a goal.

The Roanoke duo were two of the 18 ODAC field hockey players that earned the honor, joining players from Bridgewater, Eastern Mennonite, Ferrum, Lynchburg, Randolph-Macon, Shenandoah, and Washington & Lee.
