Josh Freund Named ODAC Player of the Week

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Josh Freund has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Freund, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., registered two strong performances to help Roanoke run its winning streak to three straight games and into a tie for third place in the conference standings. Freund averaged 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting .579 from the field in the Maroons' two wins. He opened with 12 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season in a 72-65 victory at Guilford. He canned 6-of-7 from the line and added a steal and a blocked shot. Freund then shot 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-5 from the stripe on the way to 21 points in a 67-63 victory over Eastern Mennonite. He added six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a pair of blocked shots. For the season, Freund leads in the ODAC in scoring average (20.1) and overall points scored (322). He is second in rebounding averaged (10.1) and total boards (162). He's #1 in field goals (122-of-199) and free throws (77-of-92) made, third in field goal shooting (.613), and sixth in free throw shooting (.837).

Roanoke returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Emory & Henry for a 7:00 p.m. game.
