Finish: Roanoke College picks up dual win over Southern Virginia

Results: Maroons 314, Knights 320

The Lead: One day after falling to Southern Virginia in Lexington, RC turned the tables on the Knights as each team won on their home course.

How it Happened:

  • The two regional foes would send 18 golfers to the first tee with a team and individual winner to be crowned at days' end.
  • RC would take the team competition by six strokes.
  • The individual medalist would come from the Maroons as well with freshman Patrick Hurdle posting a two over par 73, winning the individual event by a single stroke over fellow freshman Cameron Dillon.
  • Dillon posted his second consecutive 74 in helping to lead the Maroons to the team win.
  • Evan Diebus, picked up a match play victory yesterday, posted a six over par 77, giving RC the three lowest rounds of the day.
  • Freshman Will Clary just missed a top five finish while senior Owen Grayson rounded out the scoring for Roanoke.

Up next: RC will head to the Hill City on Sunday for their practice round at the 2020 Hill City Invitational. The two-day event will be held at the Boonsboro Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
