RC Lacrosse Alums Gather in Baltimore

On November 2nd, Roanoke College's first lacrosse All-American, Bill Doxanas '73 hosted 50 RC Alumni at the Bluestone Restaurant in Timonium, MD.  The event was held as a celebration of the Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse program. 

On hand were Director of Athletics Scott Allison '79, and Head Coach Bill Pilat '85, along with lacrosse team members from each decade that lacrosse has been in existence at Roanoke College.  RC Men's Lacrosse pioneers Terry Purvis '69, Buzz Getschel '71, Bill Sherman '73, Bill McLean '75, Braxton Andrews '73, Billy Clements '75 were in attendance as well.  "Dox" welcomed attendees and introduced Terry Purvis. 

Terry shared stories re: the origin of men's lacrosse at Roanoke College, crediting both Dox and his Dad, along with teammates in attendance. 

Coach Pilat shared his outlook on the 2019 season, highlighting our March 4th matchup with Stevens Tech at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Glencoe, MD.  The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse Endowment.  The endowment was established by Dale and Janet Sarjeant '74.
