Roanoke Announces Track & Field Schedules

Salem, Va. –
Head Track & Field Coach Kirk Nauman has released the 2018-19 indoor and outdoor schedules, highlighted by five home meets throughout the indoor season.

The Maroons open the season hosting the third annual Bast-Cregger Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in the Kerr-Cregger Field House.

Roanoke kicks off 2019 at the Keydet Invitational January 18-19 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. The Finn Pincus Invitational is scheduled January 25-26 on Roanoke's campus in Salem.

February is filled with four meets, starting with the Bob Shannon Invite on the second at Denison. RC returns home on the ninth for the Noke Elite Meet before heading up the road to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Challenge February 15-16.

Roanoke hosts the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on February 24 in Salem.

The Maroons NCAA Final Qualifier is scheduled for March 2 in Salem before the NCAA Championships March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.

RC begins the outdoor season at the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival March 15-16 in Lexington, Va.

The University of Lynchburg hosts the Dr. Jack Toms Invite March 22-23 and the University of Richmond holds the Fred Hardy Invite March 29-30.

The Maroons head south for the VertKlasse Meeting April 5-6 in High Point, N.C. before traveling to Lynchburg, Va. for the WildCat Invite on April 13 at Randolph College.

The two-day ODAC Championships will begin on April 19 at Randolph College. 

Roanoke will travel to five potential final qualifier meets in the month of May, including the Liberty Twilight on the first, The Dr. Keeler Invite the 9th through the 10th, the Aggie Last Chance on the 12th, the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on the 13th and the Gregory Invitational the 15th-16th.

The NCAA Championships will be held at The Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on May 23-25.

Last season, the Women finished third at the ODAC Outdoor Championships and the Men finished seventh. At the ODAC Indoor Championships, the Women took second-place and the men took fifth.
