The Lead: The Men took fourth and the Women took seventh in the ODAC Cross Country Championships Saturday in Winchester, Va. 

Men Highlights

  • Roanoke took fourth with 90 points out of the field of 11 teams and the Maroons had five finish in the top-25. 
  • Peter Smith recorded a team-best time of 27:07.5 for 13th place, followed by Chamberlain Zulauf just three seconds at 27:10.3 for 14th.
  • With the top finishes, Smith and Zulauf earned all-conference honors.
  • Tyler Barrett finished in 17th, clocking a 27:29.7.
  • Tim Shay and Nathaniel Willis finished 23rd and 24th, respectively, as Smith crossed the finish line in 28:12.6 and Willis crossed in 28:13.5, rounding out the top-25 finishes.
  • Washington and Lee took the team title with 27 points while Robert Hiegel finished first in the field of 97 runners with a time of 25:24.9 

Women Highlights

  • The Women took seventh in the ODAC 6K Championships with 198 points.
  • Hannah Koepfinger led the way for the Maroons in 28th place with a time of 25:18.8.
  • Alexis Mattson crossed the finish line in 26:09.3 for 40th placed followed by Allison Barthol in 57th with a time of 27:55.8.
  • With a time of 28:58.3, Carly Schepacarter took 65th place to round out the top finishes for Roanoke.
  • Washington and Lee took home the Women's title with 34 points while Calista Ariel earned the individual title with a time of 22:16.8. The field consisted of 93 runners from all 12 ODAC teams.
