Six Maroons Earn All-ODAC Honors; Boris Named Defensive Player of the Year

Forest, Va. – Six Roanoke College Women's Lacrosse standouts have been named to the 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Conference Team, including Emma Boris who was named the league's defensive player of the year.

Boris was named First-Team All-ODAC along with Maggie Lewis. Ellie Armstrong was chosen for the second-team, while Mckenna Polak, Caitlin Blankenship and Katie Clements were named to the third-team.

It marks the third straight first-team accolade for Boris who finished the season leading the league in both groundballs with 61 and caused turnovers with 44. She also scored two goals on the season.

Lewis finished her first season in Salem with 41 points on 35 goals and six assists. She also snared 49 draw controls on the season.

Armstrong had 47 goals during the season which was tops on the team and ranked third in the ODAC. She also dished out 12 assists for 59 points which was seventh highest in the league.

Polak had 52 points on the season which was 11th best in the ODAC. Her 35 goals was 16th most in the league, while her 17 assists were 10th best.

Blankenship closed her career with 25 groundballs on the season and 21 caused turnovers which ranked 13th most in the ODAC.

Clements finished the season with 31 goals and four assists despite missing the final four games of the season due to injury.
