The Lead: Roanoke tied Adrian 0-0 after 110 minutes of action in day one of the Roanoke Invitational in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • Both teams were unable to find the back of the net as Adrian recorded 15 shots and Roanoke took eight.
  • Chris Martin made seven saves in goal for the Maroons, highlighted by a diving save in each of the overtime periods.
  • With two minutes left in the first half, Molly Safreed hit the post before firing off another shot that Martin dove to save and take the 0-0 tie into the intermission.
  • At the 58-minute mark, Adrian hit the crossbar off a shot from Caroline Flemming to keep the game scoreless. 
  • Adrian held an 8-4 advantage in corners on the night while Ayverie Giller made seven saves in goal.
