The Lead: Kathryn Van Orden scored three goals as the Maroons used a strong first half to take a 5-1 ODAC win over Guilford. 

How it Happened:

  • Kathryn Van Orden broke open the scoring with a goal on a long shot over the keeper's head 23 minutes into the contest to give the Maroons a 1-0 advantage.
  • Jillian Barnard followed suit with a breakaway goal just three minutes later to double the lead.
  • One minute later, Van Orden tacked on another goal after collecting a ball that ricocheted off a Guilford defender off a shot from Abigail Burke, to make it 3-0.
  • Caelan DeMuth rounded out the first half scoring with a goal in the final three minutes to give RC a 4-0 edge at the intermission.
  • Van Orden completed the hat trick with a goal just 1:45 into the second half.
  • Guilford got on the board as Emily Shephard scored with four minutes left on the clock to make it 5-1.
  • Roanoke outshot the Quakers 15-8 and held a 4-0 edge in corners on the night.
